How will I be charged for the services you provide to me?
We offer a comprehensive array of investment and insurance products and services with a variety of fee arrangements. Increasingly, we find that our clients prefer a fee-based approach. However, please speak to a CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisor about how he/she works and the compensation terms that are available.
What standards are your Investment Advisors expected to uphold?
Our Investment Advisors must uphold the standards for licensing and continuing education mandated by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), as well as any other relevant regulatory or professional body. We also expect them to follow our own set of guiding principles that governs their relationships with clients and that call on them to engage in a process of continuous improvement. To learn more about our standards, we encourage you to speak with one of our Investment Advisors and to visit Expertise that's one to one.
What documentation will I receive about my investments?
When you begin your relationship with us, you will receive a comprehensive Welcome Kit that details our services and obligations to you. Within this kit, you will find information about how we report on an ongoing basis about your investments with us, as well as any tax-related documentation that will be sent to you. Also speak with a CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisor about what you can receive as one of our clients. To find a CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisor, click here
What research do you offer to help me make investment decisions?
As a CIBC Wood Gundy client, you will have access to the highly respected research of CIBC World Markets and CIBC Woody Gundy's Private Client Investing through your Investment Advisor and through CIBC Wood Gundy Online (the password-protected section of our Web site). This will give you information on hundreds of companies worldwide and the ability to make more informed decisions with your Investment Advisor. Depending on your interests and portfolio, your Investment Advisor may also periodically supplement this research with his/her own insights and/or third-party material to add value to your investing experience with us.
Can you protect me from financial loss?

If your investment dealer goes bankrupt, cash and securities losses to a specified amount will be protected by the Canadian Investor Protection Fund.
